Experimental Setup

        The spectral imager is mounted on a tripod into the plane, looking 45 degrees downward (flight#1) or looking through a periscope in the dome, so the imager is looking straight down (flight#2 and flight#3). The dome is continuously circulated with warm air to prevent it from condensation. The entrance slit of the spectrometer is aligned perpendicular to the flight direction.
        A reference-camera is mounted to get a visual overview of the flight path. A GPS is connected with this camera and the relevant position-coordinates and time are stored together with every picture taken by that reference-camera.
